A Little Bit about Us.

Way Up Art & Frame was established on March 31st 1968 by Mrs. Jean Hawley, a local artist. The store was located in the old theater mall on 2222 second street in downtown Livermore. Mrs. Hawley had a very small inventory of art supplies – just enough to take care of friends and family who were artists. As the art community grew so did the demand for art supplies. After 7 years she moved the store to 1000 first street where Dom’s is now. The new location was still not big enough for all those interested in art in the area which caused another move in 1989 to 1923 2nd street. In March 2002, after 34 years in business, she decided to retire and sell the shop. After reviewing those interested she decided to sell the business to Shakeeb Rashidi.

Hi my name is Shakeeb and I am honored to have been given the opportunity by Mrs. Hawley to take over as the new owner of Way Up Art & Frame. In the summer of 2007 we move the store to it’s current location at 1912 second street in Livermore. We are happy to serve the Tri-Valley’s art and framing needs. We have a great team and we hope to see you soon!
